Share Your 2025 Golf Goal

We want to hear from you, Normal Sport reader, about what your golf goal is in 2025. Maybe it's as simple as finishing 18 for the first time or as advanced as shooting your first round in the 60s. There are no wrong answers, but we would love to see what you're personally trying to accomplish this year.
Break par twice, by improving my focus in the “play box”.

In 2025 I am beginning my quest to become a golf rules official. I just finished reading the rule cover-to-cover for the second time. I am taking a two-day seminar in February with my regional golf association and then enrolling in the USGA's three-day seminar afterwards. Will be curious to what some of the first events I will get to work once qualified.

I want to have the balls to replace my putter and driver which I've had since 2004. They've served me well but it was time many years ago to make some changes. I also hope to play 1000 holes in 2025 (thanks Celia K) which should include at least 360 with my 9 year old.

My goal for 2025 is the same as the last 3 years, to play more golf. This year I’ve decided to challenge myself to go to the course once a week to either practice or play. So, if it goes as planned, I will have at least 52 golf interactions in 2025 vs less than 10 each year for the last 3. So far I’m on track, 2 for 2 🤣😂

It’s funny that this popped up here as I have just recently had this discussion with my instructor. I have played golf for a while now, and in another (responsibility free) life I played to a 4 handicap. I am currently sitting at a 10.2 but I would like to get back to that level. I suppose this is probably a goal to aim for over the next couple years as there is almost zero chance I get there in the next 12 months, but it is my current goal nonetheless.

A few college buddies and I did our first golf trip together last year (we stayed at Lawsonia and played both courses twice over 2 days). My golf goal this year is making that happen again. It's a small goal, but I think in a time when we're getting busier in our lives and we live in a world where less and less young men have close friends, it's important to me to make this an annual event.

My goal is to play at least 30 times in 2025. I’ve not been utilizing my membership over the last few years, largely due to having a young family and wanting to spend as much time as possible with my wife and kids. In the past few years if I haven’t had time to get out and play a full 18 holes, I’ve passed on going, so this year I plan to be more open about leveraging the limited time I have to just get out and play more golf. Even if that means just getting in a quick 9 after work, I just want to get back to playing regularly.
